Optical sensors (switches) are an electronic device with an optical system that detects objects when visible or invisible optical radiation is interrupted or reflected, and has a semiconductor switching element. They are triggered when the light beam is blocked by an opaque object.

The generator creates a modulated signal coming to the IR LED. The decoder analyzes the incoming modulated signals and controls the trigger.
